Liou was born in 1952, in Puli, Nantou County. After
graduating from the College of Arts at Chinese Culture
University, Liou worked for several years as an art editor
in the government's Children's Publications Department.
His works are imbued with a beautiful sense of rural
simplicity, the author being especially fond of drawing
upon personal childhood for his thematic material. Liou's
descriptions of the people and things of those earlier times
brim with sentiment.
Liou enjoys mountain climbing and birdwatching, as well
as painting the world around him. Current projects include
writing illustrated books and naturalist literature, and
photography. |
