[Author Biography]

Su-Hsia Hsu

Su-Hsia Hsu was born and raised in rural Miaoli. She recalls
being fond of drawing as a child, and of hoping to become a
teacher and artist when she grew up. And that's just what
happened. Hsu is currently a professor of fine arts and crafts
at National Hsinchu Teachers College in Hsinchu, and has
seen her artwork featured in a number of exhibitions.

At one point, Hsu's love of art took her to France, where she
spent several years, eventually earning a PhD in art from the

Universite des Sciences Humaines de Strasbourg. The time
spent immersed in European cultures and lifestyles left a
lasting impression on Hsu, greatly enriching her life.
