In 1991, Chenn studied architecture in Los Angeles (SIC-Arc).
Two years later, he pursued advanced study in the Swiss Alps,
in the town of Lugano. In his free time, Chenn traveled around
Europe, visiting numerous museums. While traveling in these
foreign-yet-familiar European cities, Chenn had occasion to
see puppet shows and collect various toys, which would inspire
the storylines of subsequent illustrated works. Within ten years,
Chenn's works ranged from books to multimedia, extending
even to architectural design.
In 2000, His work, A Brand New Day, was selected for the
special exhibition "A Four-Picture Story For The New
Millennium" in Bologna. Willie the Wheel was chosen for
exhibition at the Bologna Children's Book Fair in 2004.
